Grave Cleaning & Decorating at St. Hedwig Cemetery
Grave Cleaning & Decorating at St. Hedwig Cemetery (Dearborn Heights, MI)
Yes — we clean and decorate graves at St. Hedwig Cemetery & Mausoleum in Dearborn Heights, a historic Catholic cemetery serving the southeast Michigan community for over 100 years.
St. Hedwig Cemetery, operated by the Conventual Franciscans of Saint Bonaventure Province since its founding in 1924, maintains clear seasonal guidelines for grave decoration. The cemetery operates on a spring/summer schedule (April 1–October 14) allowing fresh flowers, and a fall/winter schedule (November 1–March 14) allowing wreaths and seasonal items. Cemetery cleanups occur March 15–31 and October 15–31. We time our visits within these seasonal windows so your flowers and decorations remain undisturbed.
What we do at St. Hedwig:
- Gentle headstone cleaning and grass trimming around the base
- Fresh flower arrangements in approved containers during spring/summer (April–October)
- Wreaths and seasonal decorations during permitted winter months (November–March)
- Photo documentation after every visit
- We respect all seasonal windows, so your tribute stays in place
We do NOT: edging, grave blankets (prohibited), glass containers, adhesives, or items outside the approved seasonal windows. We follow St. Hedwig's schedule exactly.
Our methods: soft brushes and pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaners only — never bleach or pressure washers, which can damage stone.
Office hours: Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–4:00 PM; Saturday 8:30 AM–1:00 PM (closed Sundays, holidays, holy days). Contact (313) 562–1900 with any questions.
